3k?.. i think i would of talked him into the high to mid 2k range but hey, you hav turbo's..i dont

 

If the speedo doesnt work then those miles will be off. He could have had it unhooked for years.

 

How would I be able to tell how many miles are really on the engine?

Run the VIN#?

If the speedo has been unhooked then no, theres no way to tell. If the miles have been set back intentionally then you might be able to tell by running the VIN.

 

you could kinda of get a rough idea. See how many km's were put on every year and then see if the last year or so match up with the years before.

I wouldnt worry about it though. You already bought it so who cares.
