New BOV and new engine problem

2 parter. I just installed my new HKS SSQV, install was flawless as I bought the kit. Love the sound and works well... BUT, heres part 2. When I started it for the first time I notice it wont hold an idle. I can rev, itll drop to its normal idle and slowely drop till it dies. Also I had smoke boiling from the air vents. Smelled like maybe oil and coolant mix. On the way home from work earlier (before the BOV install) I noticed after running it a little hard it started to drive funny. Engine had a slight rattly/rumble sound to it under acceleration and it felt under powered. Perhaps I blew something. If so its time I guess, Im ready for a new engine. But what would cause smoke to come from my air vents inside the car? Also my boost gauge after the BOV install wont show any boost? Part of my oil/coolant smoke problem?

Sorry if it was confusing, the BOV I dont think has anything to do with it, I just thought Id put that in there. More mods arriving tomarrow WOOT!

I'm gonna hazard a guess that your heater core blew. Take a look in your passenger footwell for coolant, rip up the carpet and see. If you can smell coolant in the car its almost a dead give away.

Did the car overheat? If so it's running sluggish because you have low coolant, making the water temp sensor report back to the ecu to limpmode your *** back home.

Or I could be completely wrong Goodluck anyways

You have an intake leak.

If you replaced the stock BOV, then you didn't plug up the extra holes properly.

Well I would agree with you, but it ran weird before the bov swap. plus there is only one hole to plug, which is the hole on the stock rubber intake hose where the bypass hose connected. which is plugged with a metal stopper. I didnt use silicon though, so that might help a bit. Ill look more into it tonight and see what I see. Im gonna venture driving it to work here in a few minutes. maybe i wont get stranded, I hope it is just a leak somewhere and not something bigger

Do a compression check. Start with the rear first.

Why are you blaming the BOV if the problem was there before the install???
