need a tip.. help

I am trying to remove the drivers side door handle.

I know 2 nuts hold the handle on. I removed one nut, can't seem to find the other one, and I can't feel it either.

The handle will not come off.

Is there any trick to removing the handle?

A trick to remove the last nut?

I also removed the plastic/rubber plug, but that didn't help me any.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks....

Yes, I have gotten that far.. but it appears that a small portion of the window is blocking me from getting to the last nut.. did you have glass still in the way after the window was all the way up?

You feeling me?

I took my door handle off, it was a little tricky. You need to get a small wrench If I remember right, and squeeze your hand in there to take it off. Also try putting the window up/down and look through the hole where that plastic/rubber plug is, see if that helps. I remeber being confused for a few minutes, but once you see how to get to it , it isnt that difficult.

If its the outside, the rear most can be gotten with the window down. remove front nut, put window all the way down, remove rear nut.

You need to roll the window up and down to get to different components. Here are some door pics of an 88 TII which may help.

Thank you everyone for the help..
I got it off myself last night.

Its roll up the window for the nut closest to the striker. Then remove the rod that releases the door. Just pop open the plastic clip that holds the rod. Now roll the window up and remove the last nut and the rod that controls the locking mechanisms.

Thank you everyone for the help..

For removal you need the following:

10 mm wrench
10 mm socket with extension.
1 flat head screw driver
1 phillips head

You need the phillips for the screws that hold the door skin on, and you need a flat head to remove the clip holding the window crank...

Sorry I didn't add all of that...

What we really need is a lawsuit against the BIG MAZDA company to replace those cheaply built door handles! Class action lawsuit if I ever saw one! Its the very devil to find a drivers side door handle in the wrecking yard.
