Need some input.

I recently came across the chance to buy a MINT 89' white Turbo II. The car is currently owned by my manager and boss, he is very knoledgeable in Rotary engines and Rx-7's in general. Like i said, the car is MINT. What do you all think....

1989' White Turbo II, Black MINT interior
79,000 Original Miles
Upgraded Turbo
720 cc secondary's
SAFC II
RFL BOV
Full 3" Racing Beat exhaust
TE 37 18" black rims with Toyo Proxies on all fours
Custom fabricated cold air intake (filter ahead of radiator)
other goodies include.. nice speakers/stereo, assorted guages ect..ect..

$5500 << Think it's worth the time/money?

Car produced 267 rwhp at 12lbs and ran several 12.6-12.7 1/4mile passes.

Regards,
-Markus

The problem with buying a car that's already modd'd you've gotta trust the previous owner to say that OK everything has this many miles on it, I paid this much for it, and there is this much useage. I say, buy a gxl or a t2 and do your own mods. Price is a bit much for that car. I'd say 4500.

Ummm...yes that car is worth $5500 IMO. I mean 18" TE37's are worth at least half that if you sell them used!

OEM Motor? Anyone with 1/4 times as shurly beat on it a bit. Motor might need some atteiontion in the very near future, however, thats not a bad thing either if done before it blows.

Personally, i would buy it, however, I would try to cut a "CASH" deal

Thing is, he's my boss, he know's his wankel as he's been wrenching on them for alittle more than 20 years now. I am still just in awe about the whole "white S5 TII" part of the program. I mean, let's be honest S5 TII's are slightly harder to find correct? We'll see in the next couple of days here what the decision shall be.

Thanks for the input guys, keep it coming.

Regards,
-Markus

I'd jump on that deal if your money situation was right. It'd be hard to build one with that kind of performance with $5500 starting out with an S5, so i'd say if thats thats what you're looking for in the long run, I'd say go for it.
