Need a quick 1 word answer please

Ill keep it simple I have 91' Coupe and i was curious if it came with a driver side airbag. I checked the options and it only talked about a passenger side airbag. I want to buy an aftermarket wheel but i need this to pass inspection as well.

That is correct,.... only the 90 and 91 US spec verts came with a driver's side air bag.

No FC's came with a passengers side air bag.

was the Vert airbag a mandatory industry standard thing or did they put it in just for safety?

as of the 1990 model year all cars sold in the USA are required to have a passive restraint system.

This was due to the idiots back in the 80's unable to grasp the concept that they needed to put on a seat belt when driving a car. More than 70% of Americans didn't. The only way to avoid the SRS was to have a majority of the states mandate seat belt usage laws. But most of the southern states failed to pass mandatory seat belt usage laws, so the feds mandated an SRS into the cars, in either the form of mouse belts or air bags.

So now we can't purchase a car that doesn't have an explosive device 24 inches from your face. All because most Americans were too stupid to put on a seat belt.

Apparently people still are. The company I work for is based in the Midwest, and they emphasize "WEAR YOUR SEATBELT" non-*******-stop in their safety presentations and stuff, its ******* retarded

The mid-west was another area where people just are not smart enough to know you should wear a belt.

The west coast, mountain states, and north east got it first

Just a small correction... It was the Americans being stupid but not by not wearing seat belts. It was, and is the Americans that vote for people and legislation to protect us from our selves. Things like this is what our constitution was created for. Those are the stupid Americans.

Ok Not the time or the place I just thought I would hop on the soap box real quick.
