Thumbs up Need Pics of Wheels off other cars on our RX7

I can't afford a set of mags right now, so as a cheaper alternative I was going to get a set of some stockers from the junk yards or buynsell for cheap for my 87 TII. So far I've narrowed it down to 2 choices, either a set from the New Preludes or the 1993-95 Ford Probe GT. The Probe GT wheels are 16x8 with a 40mm offset, so it should fit nicely and it came with 225/50/16 tires. Anyone got any pics of their RX7 with some stockers off some other cars? I need ideas...thanks.

Some other ideas I've seen: '91 300ZX wheels and '96 Eclipse GSX wheels. On the Prelude rims, I use 205/50/16 tires in front and 225/50/16 in the rear. You can't use tires wider than 205 in the front without spacers or it'll rub the dampers. I personally like the Prelude rims because they're directional and follow the lines of the car.

Hmmm...I have a 95 Probe GT in my garage right now...maybe if I get time on Saturday I'll swap 2 wheels and take some pics...can't promise anything, though, because my schedule has been very hectic.

for awhile i ran mustang cobra rims 93-? the 17x8 polished ones. the fit perfectly with 225's. Plus i bought them from ford for 400 with new tires. some guy bought a new stang and wanted the cobra r rims instead(17x9.5). but you can buy them new for 122 a piece.

No, I got them from MazdaSurplus.com brand spanking new in the box! Even came with the OEM valve stems... $56 each! Too bad they only have 2 left

I used to have Mitsubishi Starion rims on my old GXL - It looked really nice. The rims were all from the front off 2 different starions. The width of the rear, and offset of the rears on a starion are too big. You'd have to get fender flares.

Excellent choice. My fiance has a 1993 Probe GT and we were talking about swapping rims to see what it looks like. She actually thinks my GXL rims would look cool on her car.

16x8 +40mm will be a DAMN tight fit up front, unless you have coilovers or something...They will probably be rubbing your springs otherwise.

Little Donny...
did you have to buy $2000 dollars worth of stuff or did they just let you buy the wheels?

Exactly, which is why I'm gonna buy some spacers. Hopefully it wont make them look dumb if they stick out a wee bit. I REALLY hate it when I see wheels sticking far out from the fenders.

They let me just buy the wheels, I ended up paying a surcharge

Totals: (56.00 x 4) + 50.00 + 30.00 (for shipping) = 304.00.

The caps were included but I left them off because it looks better!
