"Stop Light" prob
It's been a few months since I bothered to bring up my last electrical gremlin. I just installed a Summit A/F gauge and created a new problem…which reminded me of my old problem. I'm restoring an '87 Sport and have completed/fixed all of my electrical problems, i.e. logicon, dummy lights, resoldering ALL CPUs. All except for one. When I turn on my headlights the "Stop Light" warning light comes on. I don't know if an indicator light is supposed to come on when you turn on headlights. I have the original owner's manual and from what I can gather, the "Stop Light" indicator means there's something wrong with the braking/signal light system. If that were so, would it not come on even without the headlights on?
Upon observation, I found that I can't tell the difference between my tail lights when lights are on and the brake is off and when the lights are on and the brakes are applied! Basically, lights on/brake off: red tail lights on and lights on/brake applied: red tail lights on, also lights off/brake applied: both red tail lights on.
I'm lost.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
