need opinions on this..

today i took my gtu thats been sitting for almost a year (was told it had a blown motor) and towed it to a huge hill to try and jump start it... it ended up working and while i was moving everything was fine ..but when i stopped the car lost power.. what do u think is the problem? i always thought this car still had life i just never had the time or chance to tow it to a hill...

could be anything, your post is not very descriptive as to what the car actually did when it lost power.

do a compression check on the engine to find out the condition of the internals.

i jump started it in 2nd, shifted to 3rd fine and accelerated..i havent driven it in a year but while it was just running it felt fine. then a stop sign came i down shifted to second fine then the rpms went straight to 0 and the car died.

the car wont turn over at all and none of the power works

sounds like you have an idle issue and the battery needs to be charged or you have a loose connection somewhere. the alternator could also just not be putting out enough juice to charge the battery at idle so make sure all the connections are tight and the battery is fully charged and the car can crank on its own.

yeah, get a new battery and start from there, could definately be a charging problem.
