Newb TII Questions

I am in the midst of a S5 TII purchase. I was just wondering how hard is it to fix the engine. I mean, say I blow an apex seal, I've heard 16 year olds fix it in their yard in 2 days. Also, my first mods are: FMIC, Intake Exhaust, SS Brake Lines, wheels/tires, HKS springs, and a new BOV, just for the sound. Anyway, is this appropriate? About how much hp will it make? What next in terms of mods?

Thanks for all the help

standalone, more fuel , fcd , boost controller , exhaust , intake... leave alone till it blows and then rebuild it with a nice port and 3mm seals , and maybe a new manifold to slap a niiiiiice big turbo on, but with a boost controller stand alone fcd walbro fmic exhaust intake and a port youll be pretty quick..

Only in a rotary forum are people expecting to blow their engines.

That's news to me...

Since this is your first post, PLEASE look at the FAQ stickies at the top of the section.
Most of your questions can be answered there instead of bombarding up with questions that have been answer many times in the past.
Also, using the search function should get your your replies...

Hey Dude, welcome to the forums. Sounds like you got lucky in finding and s5 TII, they are getting pretty hard to come by these days, especially the ones in good shape.

With the mods you are talking about, you could probably put down about 260hp depending on the condition of the motor. You will have to do some fuel modifications to keep it from running lean: injectors and fuel pump, fcd. You will also need to port the waste gate and a few other things.

I also couldn't help but notice you were local. We have what we call drive-ins every 2nd and 4th saturday for all the local 7 guys. We have a great group of guys that come to the drive-ins, you can learn quite a bit if you ask enough questions. All the info can be found on the link below. Congrats on the purchase....

Steve
