Question need an opinion or two on the value of an 10thAE

I spotted a 10th AE, and it got me thinking....what is one worth in average condtion? KBB puts my base 88 at 2100 US, and i was wondering what the AE would run. here's the specs on it....

130k miles (uknown if original engine or rebuild....is there any way to tell other than opening it up?)
relatively straight body, no dents. minor paint problems near gas door, pass mirror barely hanging on.
interior is good
it looked like there was a fuel pump cutoff switch inside, but that may go to something else.
i don't know about the rest, it was late and the dealer was closed. i am going to go tomorrow to take a closer look at it.

oh, almost forgot...it has a racing beat exhuast system on it, but i don't know if it is a turbo back, or not.

so how much would you pay?

if the interior is nice, and all the badges etc are intack i would guess you should see about 3-4K for that car. remember its a rare car

By your description, that would not be average condition, but rather poor condition needing substantial work (paint, mirror, fuel pump switch)

I'd say only $2000-$3000 depending on engine condition, and probably closer to $2k.

Most good condition (paint and body perfect, engine good compression, nothing modfied, seats not rippped) 10thAEs are selling for around $4-$5k depending on the part of the country.

that's what i was thinking, icemark. i am hoping that the engine doesn't have a flooding issue, and the switch is just for anti theft purposes. KBB for my car is 2100, so if the guy is asking for that, i could trade my car straight up, and hopefully, he'll let me keep some of the afermarket stuff from my car, cause the KBB value is for bonestock. thanks for the info!!!!

if it runs well, don't pay more than $2500.

there are a lot of NICE 10AE's out there still.. if it was nice I'd say pay 5k.. but if it's not nice, deduct what it will cost you to make it that way.

as soon as i can get a hold of the dude selling it, i will know more. it seems that the dealer next door to the car doesn't actually own it, so i left a note, and hopefully the owner will give me a call so i can check it out. i wanted to see if the dude will let me straight up trade mine for his if he doesn't care. i think mine will sell faster since it has a lot of aftermarket stuff on it.
