im already looking at a rb cat back that would be great but its a lil to far outside my price range, im looking to spend around 400 to 5 hundered on a full se up, or at least replece my f*cked up mannifold and mid section, unless just doing a header and cat back would give me more power??

is the main cat the one right after the mannifold? because that is what i need it to fit to if i buy the race pipe, its a direct replacement for the whole mid section (between the stock y pipe and stock mannifold)

Do you have emissions in New Mexico? I removed all cats and I'm running header to muffler to stock Y to dual mufflers. I'm not going to lie, it is kinda loud! =)

no emmissions where im at haha, the only reason im conidering keeping the stock mid section is because i have an s4, and i need the 5/6 port back pressure delivery pipe thingy to still be there so my ports open, haha

Racing Beat headers do NOT bolt to the stock cats. The Corksport headers delete the exhaust manifold and precat, but bolt to the stock cats.

from RB
"Our Streetable Header/Collector is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Power Pulse Presilencer, in all 1986-92 non-turbo RX-7s. The combination of this Header/Collector and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing. (In this application, the presilencer will bolt-up to the factory Y-pipe.)"

and the pre-silencers have a pick up tube for aux ports.
so, TheAbsence, you are right the RB will not bolt up to any of the stock cats, But i fail to see the problem with that for what he is looking to do.

^ Yeah you're absolutely right, depending on what "stock manifold" hes talking about.

The Racing Beat header will not directly bolt up to the stock main cat although you could fab up an adapter that would allow it to. With their presilencer it removes the cat and bolts up to the factory Y-pipe. There are only 2 headers on the market that will bolt directly up to the factory main cat. They remove the pre-cat(s) of course. Those headers are the Pacesetter and the OBX. The OBX header is an identical design to the Pacesetter except that it is made out of stainless steel instead of mild steel. If you don't need a cat anymore, take your pick as nearly anything can work.
