Need Help identifying Coolant In line Banjo Bolts (turbo)

Hey guys,

I snapped off a banjo bolt for my turbo, and went and ordered some from mazda. They sent me some that are way to ******* big. They are a 21mm head, and I need a 19mm head. Can someone with either an S4, or S5 please go out and measure the size of the head of the banjo bolt (closest one towards the passenger strut tower, with a socket for me? I need to be sure so I can order some again. I was told my turbo had an S5 center cartridge, but these banjo Bolts I got say they are from an 89-91. So now i'm just confused and want to make sure that the s4's are actually 19mm (smaller ones that I need)

Thank you guys.

ryan

The center cartridge from the FC turbo's are the same from what I remember. I used an 89-91 turbo on my 88 car, used the same coolant and oil lines as well as the banjo bolt. It sounds like you got a banjo bolt for the oil lines on the opposite side of the engine.

Well on my stock S4 turbo, these would have fit as they are 21mm bolt heads. But on this new turbo I got from Chris @ banazi, the threads are smaller and a 19mm bolt head fits. (sorry I don't have the thread specs)

Heads 21mm. Threads are 1.5. A 13/16ths will work in but is a touch tight. That's a series four outboard banjo bolt. The part number can be had from http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7parts.htm

ok then that is fucked up. My threads are smaller than this, and the head that will work is a 19mm head.

EDIT: Why are part numbers different for a 91-92 bolt as per the 89-90?

The series five number is 9936-91-500 and the series four is the same but ends with 400. I've no idea. Thread size? Length?

ok got off the phone with mazda. Apparently my center cartridge is from a 91-92. The part number on the 91-92 bolts is 99564-1600. They are the smaller 19mm head ones I need. go figure eh?

Thanks for the help everyone
