91 GXL to 88 vert swap
I am buying a 91 GXL for around $600 to part out for my 88 vert. My only two concerns are that the s5 has been sitting for 2+ years and the guy says that it needs a new fuel pump. Is it worth it to try the engine? I have a few concerns but I think it might be worth it. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks a whole lot in advance

Well the motor in my GXL was sitting sans a body for about a year. Once I got the fuel lines not put on backwards the sucker started up as if it was shut down the previous day. Unless the motor was smoking bad or is locked up I wouldn't worry too much about it.

when buying an FC thats been sitting for that long, you might as well budget for an oil change.
edit*^^^ ok, what the hell was i thinking.
You might as well budget for a new engine, is what I meant.

see, I already have an 88 convertiable that has an engine with low compression (and 142000 miles) this 91 GXL that has been sitting has 100k miles and I am considering doing an engine swap and parting out alot of the body (as much as can be swapped from coupe to vert) plus decent rims too... I am just wondering about the engine now... and another question. if I put this s5 engine into my car will I still be able to use my fuel pump? just wondering because this s5's fuel pump "doesn't work." Thanks in advance.
