Need help with Soul's mtr

Soul's car blew another apex seal on the dyno today. Last time the rear seal let go at 1.4 boost. Rebuilt mtr into full bridge and added msd 6a's because it looked like detenation caused the first seal to go. Today on the dyno at 1.3 the front seal let go. The a/f stayed around 11.5 and there was no spikes in the duty cycle of injectors, egt nothing. It let go at about 6300rpm. Can't find anything obvious and don't want to put another mtr in as it will probably do the same. He is suppossed to put the car in the box on wed. to ship to states. I have never messed with rotaries but could the coils be weak? By the way it picked 53hp from partial to full. Up from 381rwhp to 434rwhp at .8 boost

What happened to Soul's tuner, I thought he was going to get that engine covered under warranty. I remember soul defending bridge porting for the street and he said it was all about tuning. Which I do believe that you can run a properly tuned bridgeport on the streets. But why is he having so many problems. I know everyone one the board thinks the best tuners are in Japan. Why is he having so many problems getting his car running properly??

Yeah but .8 bar is only about 11 psi, his turbo was hardly breathing at that boost level

Sounds like the timing is off with the new setup, cause the rest sounds ok. I'm no expert, but with good EGT, A/F, and no spikes, sounds like too advanced on the trailing or maybe some cross firing with the new ignition setup.

Not a weak coil, but maybe a connection on one of the MSD's? Sounds like trailing timing or cross firing on the trailing ignition to me. I have been doing some studying of this since I blew my motor.

Just an idea anyway. Does he have a stand-alone or what? Maybe a J&S Knock Sensor setup would help?

There is at least five other cars from that tuner with the same mtr combo not hurting parts. He has a HKS Fcon v pro. It did the same thing with the other ignition. Going to try putting fd coil packs on it.

that's probably why right there... that's like 500 miles.. you should have put a few thousand K's on first. I don't think it was broken in enough.

well the motor was well broke in don't need thousands of miles on it since all we changed were the rotors and housings. the turbine only is going for 800 bucks here anyone like it drop me a email at dragfc3s@yahoo.com
they are stock apex seals but they are wpc'd (shotpeened)proven to hold up under 1.6 bar
we are pretty sure it is an ignition problem hte timing was also right on sdon't remebr how far advanced it was but it was well within limits. and it would only start sputtering under high boost at 6k low boost it was fine
also it was the front rotor that let loose so would the trailing crossfirng make a difference if that is the problem?

Any chances you can get those dyno sheets scanned in?&nbsp I'd be very curious to see if there is anything obvious that can be picked out from the dyno runs...

well i guess it is good that you arent running it on larger seals, since these are blowing it is telling you that you have a problem, while larger seals might just hide it longer.
