I need some help, i just picked up another RX its an 86 but it has the red interior and i think its to much red. Can any of you guys that have red interior post pics of your setup. I just want to see if anyone has done something different to make it look better.

Edit: door panels are grey, the vents are grey and some other misc stuff

Black aftermarket seats look neat in a red interior, I think. As long as they're nice seats.

lose the red steering wheel, get a black wheel with red stitching or ascents, the seats are off color tone with the rest of the interior imo..

 

yeah i just added those in there for now from my other rx7, because the ones that came with the car looked like a cat used it for a scratching poll lol.

should a get burgundy seat or another color, how about the doors should i add some accent color to them. I dont want to make it look getto but there is to much burgundy in there right now

the condition is so nice on the carpet, its like ****. Granted I got a good condition interior.

Ahhh the 1980's. What the hell were auto makers thinking with burgundy?

 

I wish they made 7's with Black and tan interior....

Yes, i know the 1992 vert came with it, but I mean all the other years and not just some rare obscure year model.

 

lol its an old photo, and that momo wheel did come off a benz so it had a momo benz horn button for the 6 bolt wheel, I got a mazda one on it now.

 

I guess there is not much i can do with my burgundy interior

The regular red with the maroon is NOT working. And whatever you do, don't go to town on random plastic bits with spray paint. It's often attempted and never ever successful. I say EMBRACE THE MAROON! Or start collecting other color pieces..

 

So what color seat should i put in there. The ones in there are temporary.

Since it is a white car, I suggest A combo of Blue and Black interior. Tis what I am sporting and it goes really well with my car. If I felt like pulling the dash board out, I'd actually have Black and Tan as I said before...but I don't have the time to spend removing the entire dash. It's such a **** on 7's.

 

the thing is my car is red on the outside. I would pull the carpet and dash but theay are in perfect condition. i guess in am stuck in the 80's with all that burgundy

You could wear clothes that will offset your interior, or all green and it will remind you of Christmas. Who doesn't like Christmas!

Its worth a try! Are new seats and carpet out of the question? Not cheap but HOW BAD do you hate the red interior? My old 5.0 had red interior, it sort of grows on you...eh or not..

 

Red interiors look great with some colors, and absolutely horrid with others. IMO, it looks total sex with that gold/champagne color that FCs came in, okay with Tornado Silver, acceptable with white... and terrible everywhere else .
