Black barrel connector at the trailing coil.

Oh, and this has never, ever been covered before so there's no way you would have found this with the search.

That one too. The barrel connector is technically a test connector for a diagnostic tach. The yellow/blue wire is the tach feed to the dash.

Guys, I am new to the rotary scene. I have 2 blaster coils, so which one would be the trailing coil? I also see some wire in the engine bay that are not connected. I need to take some pictures asap and hopefully get some help. Ok, once I find the yellow/blue wire what should I connect it to? I am pretty sure I'll get all of this down one day, thanks guys!

Two blaster coils is not a stock configuration. Can you post a picture of your engine bay.

In a stock car, the trailing coils are those closest to the firewall.

What are you trying to do?

Still the tach runs off the negative side of the coil. As Aaron asked "what is it you are trying to do?"

You are running a distributor with those coils.

The factory distributor. My msd 6al's are out right now, waiting to go back and get serviced. It seems that they are no longer working.

there is no factory distributor? It would have a crank angle sensor.

I think you are just trying for get your ignition to work...?

Also maybe a bigger picture would help us see what you have going on.

What is the rest of your ignition system?

I would look for answers in the first gen section, since that is basically the ignition system you are running.

Also what ecu are you running? Does it control ignition at all?

Stock ecu with a microtech mt4. Is this ignition set up out dated or am I doing something wrong?

I'm not familiar with the mt4, I would guess it is a fuel piggy back.

The ignition is of an older style than your car but if it works I cant see why it would be a problem, unless you need to dynamically change timing for your turbo setup.

Is that a T70 turbo?

Yes, a T70 Master Power that has been rebuilt with all Garrett internals now.

Ok the setup is using the mt4 to control fuel and a distributor adjust the timing for boost.

Honestly, even if it works it seems like a half-assed way to do it.

I am building a T70 setup myself and I am running a megasquirt standalone that controls both fuel and spark based on boost and rpm.

Also, whats going on with the throttle body, Ive never seen anything like that before?

The car made 376 rwhp on 7lbs of boost before the rebuild. I was unable to really turn things up since I am still inneed of bigger injectors. I am running tstock primaries and 660 secondaries. I got the car this way and plan on doing alot of modifying to whats already there.

Do you have your fuel pressure at 75psi base? With 550/660 injectors at 100% (dangerous) duty cycle it is only enough fuel for around 350 flywheel HP.

Still do not know what you are trying to fix. Is your tach not working? Or are you trying to wire in a tach?

My factory tach is not working. I am having another issue now! My oil cooler line broke, spraying 1.5 qts of oil everywhere. I replaced it and now my car is breaking up while reving or driving. Are my coils bad, now?WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could easily be a bad coil, the Oil filled coils go bad pretty easily, good news is they are dirt cheap to replace. Just pull the wire off the coil and have someone crank the engine, look for spark.

I would rethink your setup, it seems like you are on the verge of blowing this thing up. Do you have something to measure AFRs and EGTs? If so I have to believe you are running very lean and hot.

if you dont know which one is trailing and which one is leading do you even know which rotor is #1 and #2 and where the plug wires even go???? like Banzai said you can pull the wire off and have someone crank it. More details on the setup would be great.
