Need help hole in housing

just bought a 90 T2 i noticed a exhaust leak but i thought it was an easy fix but i was wrong 2 exhaust manifold broken and the previous owner was blind i guess instead of removing the bolts, he drill a hole button of broken exhaust bolt and went thru the housing and of course he never mention that to me. photo below welder removing broken stud and engine without oil pan (big hole)

Put some rtv on the new stud before you install it, no big deal.

or a thread-sert/time-sert. they're blind heli coils which will seal up the threads.

but yeah, silicone would probably also work.

with the exhaust stud in the engine it is sealed up.

i would say TIG it shut, but that isn't going to happen.

if you overthink this issue it is probably going to create more problems. i wouldn't trust any sort of epoxy in there, when it does eventually deteriorate it is going right into the oil pan. probably would not make it past the pickup tube but i feel like you'd just be wasting your time.
