Need help hear me out.

I happen to be stuck with what seems like a delima that i have read in these threads over and over. What should be done for a swap. I have replaced the stock NA r/e, d/s, and axles. Have puchased a light weight t2 clutch and flywheel (works with both motors). Have the mounts for the swap ready to order.

When it comes down to motor i want 450hp out of the motor. I have heard that the t2 happen to crack around 350 <---- . So that makes me think that the b-rew would be a great choice. Then i read somewhere that it was only certain t2's that were doing this which gave me a bit of hope. The reason i want the t2 is the direct swap factor, a/c, and p/s. Where with the b-rew i can make it non sequential and since i have to run a standalone anyway i would be able to make more power until i purchased a turbo kit. Planned on trying to run custom lines for p/s with the rew is it even possible?

What should i do?

Thanks
Dion

P.s.: Where can i find a shop that will large streetport / raceport my motor, without them having to rebuild it? Kinda wanted to rebuild it myself.

What you should do mainly involves how deep your pockets are. 450 horsepower is definately doable with the t2...... What flywheel did you buy....counterweight has to match series engine.

T2 engine will "crack" at 250 with **** tuning.

Pineapple racing has templates available as an option while you are rebuilding your engine.

Defined Autoworks should be able to port your stuff as long as its in good condition. They have a forum section on the forms.

The motor will not "crack at 350".

Guru's correct me if I am wrong but S4 T2 housings are not as strong as S5/Reman housings. But I believe that can be remedied by some dowels (If you want to go that way).

The most important thing when talking about tuning for power with all vehicles comes down to a proper tune and fuel. (injectors, pump, fuel management, exc.)

Realize that 450hp is a rather lofty goal and is going to require a bit of money. There are going to be allot of things to take into consideration with that amount of power.

For porting you can have your housings sent out and ported at a shop, or order a template do it yourself.

I planned on actually having to drop some money into the car. I just know that i will not be able to buy a turbo kit before jun and i wanted to be able to also drive around with decent power until then. Which was making me lean toward doing the rew swap (also that fact that by what i have read its a better platform for making power). As far as the porting goes thats something i def. don't want to do myself. I just didn't want to have to spend the money on getting a motor rebuilt right away and tons of places say they will only port it if they are rebuilding it.
