Need help with GXL, ASAP!!!!

I desperatly need help figuring out what is wrong with my 89 GXL. THe mods are listed in my sig. Ever since I bought it a few months ago it has had a power drop off at high RPM's, rough idle and will not stay started when the engine is cold. I've changed the spark plugs and wires and it did not help. I also took it to a guy that worked at a Mazda dealership. He said one of the rotors wern't firing at low RPM's and it was throwing 8 codes that all were related to emissions. I've also had people tell me taking off the emissions messed it up. I didn't take the emissions off myself, the previous owner did, so whether he took them off correctly or not , i do not know. So where do i go from here? Are these problems caused by removed emissions, electrical failure (like the distributors) or is it something else? Thanks for any help you can give me , i really need this thing running good.

No offense, but if you bought it and it had these problems then you should have been aware or done more homework before purchasing it. Hopefully you didn't end up spending thousands of dollars on a car with problems that had all these 'great' mods when those same mods may be the root of the problem.

Good luck.

Try adjusting your tps; it's a cheap easy fix for what could be your problem
check fuel lines, filter, etc...
sounds like tps, though...

Get a Haynes manual if you're new to the RX7. Best $15-20 you can ever spend.
