need help fast

i just put a new engine in. and it was and is still running just fine. but the problem is it got really cold here about -12 and now it is leaking coolent somewhere. my worst worry is that it cracked the block somewhere. but it still runs perfectly. it is leaking on the drivers side in the engine bay. and it only leakes when the car is running. what is wrong. please help be caouse it is not holding coolant very well and i need the car to run. if you have any thought please post them thanks

Check the heater hose on the driver's side under the oil filter. Best to use a pressure tester if one is available. With the tester you can pump up the pressure to 16/17 lbs when the car is cold and find the leak very easily. If you see the water seeping down the block, put baby powder, or talcom powder on the area. You'll then be able to see where it is coming from as the powder gets wet.

Well if you had plain water and no anti freeze in the engine, and it was sitting in -12 degree temps for an extended period of time, chances are the water did freeze. Damage??? Wouldn't know until you investigate.
Hope not.

If you had antifreeze in the cooling system it should be fine. Rather than jumpimg to conclusion as to whether the engine is damaged or not, try and find the source of the leak. It's impossible to tell over the "net" what it might be, or if any damage has occurred. Just try and find the source of the leak.

Once again, If you had antifreeze added to the water it should be fine. If it were frozen, the water wouldn't be circulating through the radiator and it would have overheated.

if there was damage is would be leaking coolant out of the block...

so find where it's comming from. the block or hoses. maybe the hoses froze and bust. nobody can check but you.

OH fiddle. It's probably busted, toast, a gonner. If that what you want to hear???? I can prove it. Go out and look for where the water is coming from. It's a busted block. Totally ruined. Darn. If you'd only have looked earlier instead of writing threads on the internet. Oh well, better luck on your next car.
