NEED HELP! Engine swap over, not working

I finally finished all the last of the little things for the engine swap. and then it came time to start it. stick the key in, hold my breath, turn it.......it's alomost there but doesn't start, my friend suggested pull starting it with my other friends forrester, we did and it started but once I put my foot on the accelerator it didn't work as if the throttle cable is not hooked up, but it is. I had someone there very knowledgable in RX-7s with me so he said to stop and then try turning the key again, and as I did he messed with the AFM and the car stayed onas long as he held it open, but once he let it shut it turned off.

Last night I tried again with a new AFM (different I should say, not new) and once I turned the key it struggled but turned on.....for a second, and then shut off again.

please help me, everyone around me wants me to give up and sell it. but I want to keep it and I want it to run.

Hey. I don't really know too much about RX7, my boyfriend did an engine swap all by himself but few months ago. He had several problems before he actually got it up and running. He gained a lot of knowledge and knows that thing like the back of his hand. Im sure he can help u out in someway. He's: 87redrx7 . Just don't give up and DON"T sell it. come on now.

I'm back because I have some money and my car is still broken so before I pay to fix it let me give it another shot

How would I figure out where the vacuum leak is? I was told to get some carb cleaner, try to start the car and then spray the carb cleaner where I thought the vac leak was, I did that and found a supposed leak and fixed it (IM) but it's still not working.

Do you (or anyone) have any suggestions of where the vac leak might be at, maybe there is a place that is notorious for leaks? maybe it has something to do with the rats nest, if anyone has the post of how to remove it handy please post it, if not I'll look it up when i get home. i dunno I just know if it's not fixed by Thanksgiving I'm paying someone to do it as much as I hate to....

BTW never PULL START a vehicle, always push start it. unless you want to shove the car up the other cars *** when she takes off
Reaction time is slowed as your looking at dash and key and etc etc and before you know it your slammin yer buddy.
