from what I've heard. There is a safety recall on those seatbelts. So if they don't work, take it to Mazda and they will fix it for free.

Just what I've heard

Just so you know, he's not kidding. Some people really have had to call Mazda HQ to get the fix done for free.

Mine worked fine and I took mine up there anyway just to get em checked out... I didn't pay a dime... My '88 Honda (sold) had a recoil problem with it seat belt cause som jackass broke in to it and glass got in the roll up thingy... They fixed it for free... I think most manufacturers either will fix seatbelt probs cause they dont want the reputation of not caring about your safety or they are required to by law... I am not sure...

I could have sworn the number was listed on fc3spro, but now I can't find it. Anyway, I think you have to call the mazda customer service line and tell them the dealer won't honor the recall, or something like that. Hopefully they will just do it in the first place.

It's in California. they have a phone number :P and the dealership should have a phone number for them too. if that dont work, report the dealership to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
