Fuel pump starts when radio is on in acc mode?

Hey guys,

I did do a search on this, I couldn't find anything...

I just installed an aftermarket stereo. I researched it all beforehand... I by-passed the stock front speaker amps, I installed the relay for the antenna.. double checked everything...

however I noticed when the key is in ACC and the cd player is running, then when you switch to listen to the radio the fuel pump starts up?

I can't say if it did it before the install or not, never listened to the radio in ACC mode before...

Have you heard of this? it doesn't seem like this should be happening...

Thanks.

I've found you can't really hear the fuel pump turn on (walbro's are another story) unless you have the access door open and your ear right by it. Make sure youre not just hearing feedback from you speakers, especially if you have a system installed.

Do you have the stock antenna? I made the same mistake when i was looking for the accessory wire in my car(stereo was missing when i got the car) When i grounded one of the wires, the automatic antenna motor would turn. My antenna is missing, so it just kept running and i thought it was the fuel pump as well. It sounded like it would be the fuel pump, but the fuel pump is actually alot more quiet than that, even the walbro.

I'll check it out... I thought I could hear the fuel pump, and then someone drove my car and heard it as well saying that I could hear it because it's life was almost up... maybe I just need to replace it anyways and that might take care of it?
