Does your VDI work? That will help your top end.

Look under the hood and rev the motor.
The VDI should open at 5500 RPM.

VDI and Aux ports only work when the engine is underload.

If your power dies up high, then your aux ports are most likely stuck closed. If you wire them open, it will work the same as on your 86 - it will have good top end and crappy low end. I reccomend fixing it right. Reach down and see if you can move them with your fingers. If not, take them out and clean them and lube them and see if you can get them operating. Also, do you still have the air pump. You need it to operate the vdi and aux ports on the s5 cars.

you mean the smog pump??? if so that is gone... the one in the rear will not move at all the one up front moves fine by hand that is... is it bad to remove these sleavs?? on all my 86 87 88 it was never a problem i lost a little on low end under 3000 rpm but after that it was great that thing use to rev up like a bat out of hell..
on this car is there a differnt setup better tricks to do? my next step is to strip everything off of it... no smog what so ever just air and fuel... on this setup by removing the sleavs will it hurt anything other than loseing low end and gaining top end...if you can let me know what is good for this motor...please do

On s5's (89-91) you need the air pump to operate the aux ports. That is your problem right there. Now, you can wire them open if you want to, but I reccomend just fixing it right. If you really dont want to put the air pump back on, there are ways of rigging an electric motor to operate them at the correct time. Search around for threads on how to do it.
