Question Need help...

ok, i have a full s5 motor, what are the things called near the lower intake manifold...someone told me if i took those specific things out that i would get more power, and it would open up a lot more....are they my secondaries?...im not sure help would be great, i want a little more power for the track coming soon

they lied and they are aux ports.

Removing or disabling them from functioning properlly will only make you slower.

dont those things close up though? like they have butterflys dont they? and after a while they dont open up all the way anymore?...thanks for the help

Only the Euro spec have butterfly valves in them. The North American spec have a rotating sleeve.

And yes sometimes they get gummed up, but fixing them and making them operate as designed will yeild you the best HP and 0-60 and 0-100 times.

Wiring them open or removing them will result in a major dip in the power curve below 4000 RPM. Since this is the engine speeds used to start in and shift up in (on street driven vehicles), well... with the low torque of the 13B even with the system working... well with them not working you might as just let all the air out of your front tires because that is as big of a handicap you are giving yourself.
