You disconnected it or you took the whole thing apart?

It just has to be plugged in electrically to keep the ECU happy.

ok. to start i completely gutted it mechanicaly. if it could be popped or pryed out i did. go drive the car. throws an error code first time i get to 3krpm, it throws a CEL, bucks violently, goes into limp mode. i drive home. it throws error code 27 (OMP malfunction). i look at the stuff i took out of the pump. and figgure i only need to put bakc the plate in front of the motor that actualy engages the sensor. i do that, jamm the pump in the corner of the engine bay and then i go driving around to see if it fixed it. still runs crappy ( i got some vac. and feul issues to sort out) but as far as i can tell it doesnt go into limp mode and it DOESNT throw a check angine light; HOWEVER, i get home, check the codes and still get #27. WTF? could it be going into a sort of partial limp mode, because it obviously thinks the omp is malfunctionig, but apperently not enough to justify going into the full blown limp mode and throw a check engine light.
DAMN THAT OMP!!!!!

so, can i drive around with it still giving code 27 as long as it doesnt put up a CEL? or do i have to work at this some more?

Why didn't you just unbolt it, leave the electrical connections plugged in and tie it out of the way like everyone else?
