Need Exaust

K,
I am not here sounding like a whiner but I need an exaust and one second hand wouldn't be too bad however, I would like to go new. If anyone has a Apexi N1 single or GT than I will see what I can do about taking it off your hands. Anyway using one of these exausts plus a racepipe with presilencer and silencer on muffler, will this be a great and I mean great sound difference over stock? I only care about idle really since there are no emissions checks up here however, they look at if the exaust has cats which mine wont so I wont pass. I own a 89 GXL by the way. Also if I do this will I have to touch anything related to fuel? Thanks for the info guys, I need some and an exaust like no tommorow

Gut the cats. Then get the N1. That should be a cheap easy, and painless exhaust for ya! Plus, it will still look legal! A N1 and a racepipe or presilencer will be VERY loud, probally breaking local sound laws! I can't wait till mine comes in the mail!!!!

Yeah save the cats, I too learned the hard way about that. Now I use the case of my old ones to make it look like I have cats for the visual inspection. It has worked the two times I have gone. Having test pipes will give you better flames as well.

My car sounded like such *** that i had to buy an RB turbo back system. Do not gut your cats unless you Rice (opposite of race)

I am not interested in it sounding like *** since this tips off the visual inspection guys. I want to know the pitch and/or tone it will sound like with a RP and and a N1 single? Will it be deep or high? If deep, no problem since it won't tip anyone off. Plus I will be running a presilencer and a silencer so that will cut down on noise.

Take your car to a muffler shop and tell them to make a pipe to replace the cats. Then remove the cats, and install the pipe. That way you still have the cats for inspections, and the pipe for any other time.

It won't cost too much.

I wish I had known that. I just junked both cats off my TII. I would have given them to you...

Hahaha down here in Texas I just to my car to a local shop, they just told me to honk my horn and check my blinkers, never even looked under the car.
I thought they would be clued by the sound, but I really think they didn't care.
My car is LOUD as ***, and at idle it sounds similar to a small 2 cycle engine, at WOT you think the worlds ending, (especially under bridges). Cops just look at me like I'm crazy (which might not be far off) gotten pulled over before for "sounding like" I was speeding. Hehe
I think its funny myself

Alright, hypothetically speaking, I want to run a bonez RP and an Apexi N1 Single. BlackRx7 what are you running for a setup and everyone else how loud, make some kind of a refrence please, would it sound? I am not sure about the cats because it leaks however it might just be a gasket that got burned up. I don't know, just need some suggestions I guess
