Question Name that connector!

What are these to (normally)?

Green is connected to the BRS harness and the other comes out from under the UIM.

What are they?

(No emissions, BAC, Cold-start, A/C, or PS, ATM)

Green - Diagnostic Plug - Maybe

Edit: Wait, thats not the passenger side fender... what are the color codes on the wires? The yellow one looks like the wire to the AWR solenoid.

The yellow one is for the fuel pump test.

alritzer is right, which is what I thought in the first place... It seems you have the entire harness near the engine and not the regular passenger side fender area

Yellow- Fuel Pump Test
Green - Diagnostic Plug

Wait.... Grn is diag plug? LOL I thought that was supposed to be over on the DRIVER'S side.

It comes right off of the boost reference sensor harness (same harness, not connected TO the BRS, directly).

So they don't need to be connected to anything, then Awesome.

Since I'm in the 'Electrical' phase, I'm trying to track down what's what, and the FSM is so damned cryptic, to find anything specific you need to be both psychic AND Japanese.

Will post other things I find, here.

Eh. Something is amiss here.

The yellow looking plug. Look at the two wires themselves. One looks like it's black with a white stripe. What is the other wires color. Please describe it as I just did the black with a white stripe.

They are a part of the EM or emisisons harness. See manual.

A Fuel Pump Check Connector does NOT have a black/white wire in it. See manual. That is why I question what those plugs are.

If they have ANYthing to do with emissions or any facet of the cold-start system(s), I'm in the green.

I don't have any of that mess.

I think most of those systems are sitting in the garage... Along with both the A/C and PS systems, as well.

Honestly, Hailers, That's a really good question; you're the first to attack that one....

Dunno, but have to assume it's USDM since the components are N370.

If the yellow connector has a Brown wire which has voltage w/key to on then the connector is likely the fuel check connector especially if the other wire has no voltage with the key in any position. There are some constant grounds in an S5 which are B/W such as pins 3B and 3A but the fuel check connector shouldn't be one of them as depicted in the wiring diagrams. So what color is the second wire in this plug?

The two plugs:

The Yellow plug has a Brown wire and a Black + White wire;

The Green plug has just a Green wire.

Later on, today, I'll post another pair, that I found, as well. One is under the TB elbow,, it's a white plug with a single white wire and the other is located behind the TB ( near firewall) that's also a white plug but has a single yellow wire.

Hopefully the color clarifications help this out, a bit.

I questioned the yellow one because the online series five manual says the fuel check connector has two wires. One is Black and the other is BLACK/RED.

Either the manual online is wrong or??? got me. If you jumper it and the fuel pump runs with key to ON...........then the online manua is wrong on page Z44.

The pure black one should be going to ground and the black/red to the circuit opening relay and the ECU also.

I'm probably makiing a mountain out of the mole hill. Still.................colors don't match.

The online series four manual also shows the green test connector should have a ORANGE wire in it. So I guess the online manual is for something other than what they say. Pin 1 eye or 1I is the ECU pin it goes to for checking codes etc.

I'll drop out of this series five stuff. Manual does not fit the series five car.

Just correcting a error I made. I wrote "The online series four manual also shows the green test connector should have a ORANGE wire in it." and I should have written SERIES FIVE MANUAL instead of series four.

Just correcting myself. THe plugs are probably what the others said. I just did'nt like the wrong wire colors vs the FSM wiring book.

Even the wiring diagram I got from a source other than the FSM shows the single wire green check connector to have a O (orange) wire. It just got my curiosity up what with the colors being so different. See attachment from ALLDATA.

Not to worry though. It's probably meaningless...the different colors.

WOO-HOO! Timne for another episode of, "NAME! THAT! CONNECTOR!"

<insert studio applause, here>

First one is found between the TB and the firewall and has a white clip with a single yellow wire:

Second is located kind of below (towards the driver-side fender) the TB, in the same loom as the IAT sensor and is a white clip with a single white wire:

Third is an odd one: Located BELOW the plugs and oil filter, in a loom that comes up from below the engine. It's a white double-pin clip with a single wire in it colored either Red/Black or Red/Grey (hard to tell due to lighting and location):

And, as a bonus question (extra points!) answer this question:

What connects to this little stick-of-a-connection and what wire is it? (Hint: It's above the OPSU)

should really take off those rings when you're working on a car...unless you don't like having 10 fingers.

1st appears to be temp gauge. 2nd pic is knock sensor, 3rd is oil level warning maybe...4th is where the temp wire needs to go.

Ughhh.... I have heard horror stories of rings getting caught on ladders and the person jumps off, only to have their whole finger and ligament pulled straight out of their body, ect, ect...

3rd picture: Wire connects to the transmission harness, for neutral switch. But then its missing a wire, it should be two, I could be wrong.
4th: coolant temp wire goes there

OP: What haz we won??
