WA NA front cover tap/oil feed and return lines

ok i have tried searching and have found no solid answers really.

i have a frankenstein engine, s4 turbo irons and s5 NA housings and s5 NA front cover. i need to tap my font cover so i can have a oil return line, what size should i tap the front cover? also i have the stock hard line that connects to the turbo, should i just switch to all SS braided lines instead of trying o hunt down all the stock oil lines.

That pic is the feed line not the return line yea? I have a similar problem since the return line I have from my s4 engine doesn't fit my s5 turbo. I've been researching using AN fittings and braided lines. If you went that route, all you'd have to do is drill and tap for the AN fitting that would bolt right to the front cover.

Sweet, I haven't really taken the plunge yet. So tell me how it turns out (pics?).

I'm not sure 6 an will be big enough for an oil drain

Most people use 8 or 10 AN

Hehe... Yea I wasn't gonna say anything since you already tapped it. But the 1/5 inch 8an matches up better with the stock oil return line...

You definitely need to make the drain larger. It needs to be large enough to prevent excess pressure from building inside the CHRA. Pressure will drive oil past the seals into the intake/exhaust. Use -10 (5/8" OD) for the drain. That'll be comparable size to stock.

Another thing to avoid would be 90º fittings. Use 45º fittings, and make sure the drain line will not be sitting horizontal to ensure proper flow.

Yeah, the feed line is what's in your pic, and it's either -3 or -4.

yeah i measured the feed line and its 1/4 inch accross on the inside diameter, and i found a -AN fitting that was a -6AN fitting with a 1/4 inch inside diameter so i figured i would go with that.. but ill definetley change that.
