N374 ECU Question

I opened my N374 ECU up today to solder in a socket to try putting in my Rtek 1.5 and see if it would work. But it already has a socket installed and I was wondering if that is normal or not. And whether anyone could help me identify it.

Here's a few pics to show what I'm referring to

http://tinypic.com/r/10nuow0/7

http://tinypic.com/r/330r420/7

http://tinypic.com/r/2iqlsb6/7

The chip appears to say: FC 1066 FC3ST2X

Just never seen the inside of an N374 and don't know if this is normal or if this is an aftermarket chip. Please let me know if you have any info.

Thanks, Ben

They just run out of the ECU by the connectors and are cut off there.
I figured it was aftermarket but wasn't sure. And I would like to know what it is as well. It came with the TII engine I got from Japan2LA

Do you think It'd be safe to run with it? As of the moment I have not been able to afford a wideand. Or should I put the Rtek 1.5 chip in? And with the Rtek installed do you think I would have the issue with the N374's not firing the rear primary injector?

you should wait until you know what parts you have so you dont do something stupid and blow up your engine. the correct ecu costs a lot less than a rebuild.

You might call/write the RTEK people if it'll work or not. I'm fairly sure they now alter N374 ECU's. Not real sure about that. Give 'em a call. Digital Tuning folk.

it might have been to some kind of switch. maybe it was dual maps or maybe its for some kind of emulator. I have no clue, you might as well desolder it right at the main board then solder your jack to the main board and plug in your rtek chip
once you have the jack in you could always put that chip in and see what kind of a differance it makes ( I wouldnt go punching on it) but if it came with your engine, its probably just a basic tune to enhance stock set up

@HAILERS2, Yeah I emailed the Rtek guys and they said to try adjusting the TPS, which I already had. So I emailed them again and they said if I think it's the Rtek chip, to send it back and they'll replace it for $10. So I think that's probably what I'm going to do.

@FC3Sdrift, Yeah after doing some looking around I figured it might have been a switch for a dual rom. Like this http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300z...d-JDM-ECU.html

And I got my stock chip out and plugged it back into my N370 and it fires both injectors fine. So I'm pretty sure it's the Rtek chip.

Thanks everyone for your help! : ) Ben
