N/A rotor housings in t2 motor?

Has anyone used N/A housings in a t2 motor? Do the diffusers in the exhaust port affect turbo spool?

Me too.

Cut that diffuser out of there with a torch, takes 3 minutes per side.

What is the diffuser for? does it resrtict exhaust flow and would it be a bad idea to cut them out on a NA?

it is to lower noise. it does restrict flow slightly. cutting them out will prpoduce a bit more flow but a bit more noise.

Not to hijack, but what are your opinions on removing the sleeve all together? The last thread I read about this topic was full of approvals.

Grinding stone....Takes a little time, but works well. Just don't waste the expensive, good stones. Use cheap hardware store stones.

I was just curious. I'm building a PP at the moment and I've already removed the sleeves.

Aluminum alloys are cast in the 1150°F to 1300°F range, so your probably right, but I hope your not.

Don't run the coolant thru the intake manifold, no big deal.

FOr a stock t2 application, use the NA housing in the front position....the rear is the only one necessary to feed the stock turbo.

IF you need to use 2 NA housings, well just pull water supply from elsewhere, like the BAC hoses.
