FCD questions, i need some wisdom.
I searched for this and didn't find exactly what i was looking for. I read the instructions on fc3s to make the fcd, and i was wondering if anyone had done this and how well it worked. It sounds pretty good and id like to try it, just for something to do. I was wondering about the stock boost gauge for this or for any other fcd. Does it cause the boost gauge to read incorrectly? Also what is the differance between the s4 and s5 fcd's, and how well does an hks fcd work since i've not seen one specific to the s4/s5? Thanks for the help in advance.

I've made a couple for a series four. The series five is a touch different in that the boost sensor does not have a 12v source AT the boost plug.
It works just as good as the one from RB or whereever. A voltage clamp is a voltage clamp. The one from RB, in my opinion, was set tooooooooooooooo low. The up side is that the pot is accessable and can be adjusted if you have a digital meter and a source of pressure for the boost sensor (MittyVac).
There's a couple of people on this forum who make them for the series Five. I *think* its the same design but they have to grab 12v from a nearby connector that designated for some other thing. Lots of spare plugs laying around the engine bay that don't get used. Like the one for the adjustable suspension if your car does not have that feature.

Look in the 2nd gen forsale section, there's a guy named nyt who makes and sells that stuff.
Also, I still think YearsOfDecay still offers this service here...

ok, ive got another question. Thanks for the responses by the way. I tested my pressure sensor today, per the haynes manual it said that the voltage should be 3.5-4.0 volts at 3.9 hg/in vacume. Mine was 5 volts with no vac, and did not move when vac was applied. Kinda make me think its gone bad, but just to verify, should my stock boost gauge read 0 when the ignition is on and the car not running? Mine reads all the way in the negitive all the time, (unless its boosting, then at full bore it sometimes goes to 0 and sometimes goes to +45, it depends on the phase of the moon i think ) think i need a new pressure sensor? thanks again.
