my 86 GXl is at 168,xxx and i think its going to be soon for a rebuild. i've had lots of smoke lately and starting it has been harder and harder now. it takes longer for the engine to catch now. still, it runs stronger then my brother's 90 GTU (198,xxx).

180k miles on a 86gxl that only had the pd replaced, afm, omp lines, and some injector orings. other than that, starts and idols fine. lol. it hesistates all over the place though. the trany is almost gone though. i cant downshift into 3rd at all. i can upshift into 3rd, but really slowly and cautiously. its worse when its cold. and reverse is almost gone. i dont know. it could be just the syncros.

Mine made it to 72,000 and then the infamous heater hose blew out. The wife thought it would make it "only a mile" to home. Now I'm doing the turbo conversion (with all new hoses). What are you gonna do?

Mine made it to about 215,000 miles, and was still running strong until the day it died. It had a coolant seal failure, among other things. First, the fan clutch went out, which is bad when its summer in Texas. Then the thermostat stuck. I think the coolant seals where starting to go, but it still had life left. I ended up overheating it, so it was new engine time.

My rear apex seal went at 135,000. However I strongly believe this was do to the metering oil pump lines being burnt through prior to me purchasing it.

110,000 miles on my 87 n/a. I am premixing now and hope that it will make it to 200,000. At any rate, when it does go, I will have it rebuilt and ported.
