My 87 NA is still going. It just turned over 236,000 miles.
I drive it daily and change the oil every 2000 miles.
I bought it, from the original owner, when it had 180000 miles. It smoked real bad, and had the 3800 hesitiation.
I fixed the ground wires, soldered lots of boards, and changed the purge control valve.
Today, I'm having the window changed out, since it's hard to see thru from all the nicks.

About a year ago, the original engine in my 90 GXL lost a rear apex seal at about 211K miles. I think this engine would have lasted longer if it weren't for a failed thermo pellet in the e-shaft. Anyways, I put a Mazda remanufactured engine in it last Summer, and now have about 221K miles on the car.

My old 86 GXL died at 65,000 because the previous owner forgot to put oil in it
My 2nd engine went at 66,000 because it was a used engine that the shop didn't know the condition..
Needless to say I got rid of that car good and fast =]

My original engine (car handed down from father) lasted to 208k But it still ran when i decided to rebuilt her. And amazingly my housing were still good ( taken care of.... always changed oil when he owned it and so did i) Eventually my oil control rings went bad (around 200k) and she started to smoke at around 4k. on the tach. It was by choice and due to the lack of power i was gettin ( 0-60 = 11 sec) that i decided to do a complete overhaul. It has been around 5000 miles since my rebuild and has not failed me since. Runs strong to redline with no smoke or hesitation and pushed 152 Hp on the dyno.
Not bad for 17 year old housins and rotors. :-)

my 86 GXl is at 168,xxx and i think its going to be soon for a rebuild. i've had lots of smoke lately and starting it has been harder and harder now. it takes longer for the engine to catch now. still, it runs stronger then my brother's 90 GTU (198,xxx).
