Is my Turbo effed up, its whirring like mad

So last night I passed my friend who was driving his Porsche 944 going about 95mph then I pulled into my destination and parked. I heard a quite but inconsistant clanking sound. the motor was still running fine and turbo was boosting but there was still a quite sound of clanking. after about 5 min of driving it went away.

So today I was on my way to school and there is a roundabout by my school and its sort of a tradition for me slide it, so I was in 2nd gear and slid it nicely. after that I hear a whirring sound only when I get into boost on my way to school. So I am in school now and I am debating whether I should drive my 7 to work or park it before anything serious happens.

*But any help or suggestions is appreciated
Thanks

Take off the TID and inspect any damage to the wheel and/or housing then check the shaftplay and endplay.

if it sounds like a siren, it could be a spun bearing throwing your wheels off just enough to rub the housing. That happened to mine 2 weeks ago.

ok, so I drove it to work, the turbo is not boosting, my boost gauge reads 0 and it becomes a louder whining sound. so I am just grannying around. so I know for sure my turbo is messed up. tonight I will take it apart and see whats up. bummer too because tommorow I was suppose to drive to yakima tommorow. my buddy should have another turbo laying around somewhere. hopefully I can get that from him if mine is messed up really bad

From: Kissimmee Fl,
mine was making a sound like a fishing pole reeling in the line, but it still boosts 12 PSI and no shaftplay, is it anything to worry about? oh yea this started happening after my oil drain plug fell out and i had to drive the car about a mile w/ no oil

sounds like a seized bearing or other internal part of the turbo is blown
