My tps problems
hi guys i have a 88 turbo 2
that i just bought about a week ago
car runs great, but i have a little problem
i have a apex safc, im sure u guys know how it works
well the problem is my throthles is being read at 44.9% even when
im not touching gas, and when i'd say about am at 20% throthle(barely
touching), it'll read 100% already. it causes the injectors to DUMP FUEL
in there even when im barely accelerating, causing big BOGGING problems
and i have no throthle response... feeels like i have a big turbo
that makes no power..
so give me some solutions plz
should i get it adjusted, if so, where?
should i replace it with other tps??
thanks for the help in advance guys!

i'm not sure if this will help you at all but i found a site that tells you how to set you tps perfectly (step by step). it also tells you how to check if you need to replace your tps. the web site is www.fc3spro.com go to the tech section and then to the how to section. it helped me set my tps and not my rx idles perfectly.
Use the map sensor to control the SAFC instead of the TPS. There's a thread out there somewhere on the SAFC forum.

Here ya go, Found it.

You may have more than one problem here, but first I'd the TPS to 1k ohms with the throttle fully released, and measure the resistance as the pedal is depressed. It should be around 5k ohms I think with no deadspots as the pedal goes down. It's tricky to see deadspots though with a typical multimeter for home use. Check that fc3spro writeup.
Secondly, you need to realize that on an 88 T2 you have a narrow range TPS. Therefore it's going to read 100% with the pedal barely pressed down. It's supposed to do that.
What corrections is the SAFC set to? Put it in 4 channel monitor mode with throttle, rpm, Airflow (Afl), and % correction (Cor). See if you can tell what correction the thing is hitting when it runs like ****. The SAFC may not even be tuned at all in fact and just read 0% when you go to set the high throttle map.

ok i have found this out, after working on my car for about 2-4hours
my tps is perfectly normal.
i have taken it off, played with the sensor with my fingers and read my
tps reading off of my safc, it reads 0-100% evenly and correctly.
i have safc tuning question, i will create a new thread for it.
