My RPM is going up n down on idel!!

I had a small accident 2 days ago.. thanks god nothing happened to the engine.. the hit was just from outside so i need a body work!
anyhow... after finishing with the accident report and all that things... i drove my car heading back home.
i noticed that the RPM was on 2k when the car is on idel ?!!!
came back home.. and i told that to a ftiend of mine and he told me to clean the throuttle or the air intake with a carbonator intake cleaner.
i did that today and now .. the RPM is low .. but it goes up and down between 1.5k and 1.7k on Idel.
Does anyone has any idea what should i do to fix this problem?!

Do i really need to clean the throuttle body or the intake really well ?!!
or there is something i should replace?
help please.
Thanks

Check TPS. Searching would be much easier.

Probably not, generally the TPS causes this problem.

It might be a vac leak. Thats what I would check for.

A few things to check others already said, and a few things they didn't.

-Set the TPS
-Set the CAS
-Set the timing
-Make sure all vac lines are securely on, RTV around the outside (not on the nipple)
-Once you fix the idle lope, play around the with idle screws. They should get you back down to you're 700-800rpm idle.

Something to consider, is the accident may have somehow knocked you're intake manifolds enough to cause a leak. If these problems don't fix it..think about getting/putting on new intake manifold gaskets.

sounds like a vacuum leak. Check for any possible signs of leakage everywhere after the AFM.
