My Ride Won't Crank! Please Help!

Hey guys,

I tried starting up my 7 last weekend and it wouldn't even crank. Idiot lights come on (battery) AND i hear no clicking sounds (starter). A few friends told me to unplug the clutch interlock switch and jump the connection with a paperclip. That did not work.. bummer. Can anyone guide me on the right track as to what i should try next?

7less,
chris

right....so your battery is dead. If the starters clicking your battery is too weak to turn over the engine

Battery is GOOD .. . and,,, NO clicking sounds... i turn the key and nothing happens. I thought the clutch was not engaging but apparently that idea didn't fly.

Okay since giving it a smack with a hammer this tell me you have a flat spot on the armature or brushes so you are going to need to get it rebuilt or buy a new starter because it is just going to get worse. They sell them for about $115 with core exchange at autozone .

I have one for sale from a 88SE that was only used for about a month if you are interested. I will sell it for $55 plus shipping.
