Dude...... MY water temp gauge never goes higher than 1/8th off the bottom when my car is idlening, which corresponds to 185 on the Autometer gauge AND the Haltech sensor.

I have had it go to halfway ONCE, when the e-fan quit working, and the Haltech sensor was reading 230 degrees.......

Moral of the story,,. the stock gauge is NOT linear and IS a piece of junk. If its going to halfway at idle, either its busted, or your car is running WAY to hot.

You need to put a real water temp gauge in that thing.

I am looking into doing this myself. I searched and found nothing on installation. Also the average price I find for the autometer ones are about $60 each does that seem right. I'm tired of wondering if the stock gauges are reading correctly and hopefully can spot a problem before its too late.
