are my oil seals gone, please no!!

Ok so i just bought my first rx7 a 1990 gxl n/a and i have a small question. OK so in the morning it smokes a medium amount until its warmed up its blue smoke so im guessing its oil. I have 2 oil leaks visible in my engine bay. After the car is warmed up ill drive it normally for 5 min or more then get it up to like 6k rpm and when i shift into next gear i notice smoke from the back this happens most of the time that i shift in high rpms going fast. my oil pressur will also drop to almost zero until im at a red light where itll go back to normal. I also have racing beat headers on it. I hope that someone can help me i dont want it to be the oil seals casue i jsut bought this car and will be so sad ): thanks for everyones help and please let it not be the oil seals.

It's either the oil seals, OR the oil injector nozzles/pump.

OIl pressure drops to almost 0??
CHeck the oil, do you have any?
Check the colour, see how much it smells like gas. If it smells a tiny bit like gas. it's OK. sIf it mells just like gas, not lie oil at ALL, then it's bad.

What grade oil?
A high mileage car in Florida should get 20W-50.

Has it ever been overheated?

Maybe start planning for a rebuild or a J-spec swap.
Until then you can buy some time with a shot of "motor honey".

my na has 153k, original engine, no rebuild, and i run 10w30 without any problems, unless i rack it off when it hasn't warmed up all the way, then i get blue smoke out the tailpipes, but only when it is cold.

shuold i use the 20w50, or should i stay with the 10w30?

i don't smake any other time, only the normal amount when started up cold

When my '79 GS was doing this I switched from 20-50w to 10-40w or 10-30w on the advice of RotaryBeat, this minimizing the smoke and oil use dramatically.

There are many variables of climate & engine condition.
If 10w-30 is smoking, try 20w-50.
If it helps, use it, if not, go back to 10w-30.

[rianshima]'s motor seems to be smoking & leaking pretty bad.
It could be too thin a base oil like 5w-30, or a thin synthetic oil, or worn oil rings, or heat warped side plates.
