is my oil pump going out

At idle my gauge reads what looks like 0 psi (it might be like 5 or so)... and on top of that my car idles at 1500 RPM. When I am driving my it reads 60 PSI.

I haven't heard of too many people breaking an oil pump.

Check your oil. What weight oil and type are you using? Filter? How often do you change it?
Check/replace/fix your oil pressure sender/dash cluster....
Check for oil leaks.
Also, check the e-shaft thermo pellet. It might have failed.
Get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge or have autorepairshop check oil pressure and compare to dash.
Fix the idle.

Download the lubrication and cooling chapters from either of these sites and read:

Also - have you been flooding/hot starting lately? I find that if I hot start or flood more than a couple of times, I end up with gas in my oil, which thins it out. That often lowers the pressure as well. Check for a gas smell to your oil.
