My new RX7, a few questions
Just purchased my first RX-7! It's a '90 Black GXL 5spd. I'm the second owner. The car currently has 160k miles on it, but it runs strong.
Exterior: rust on both front quarter panels on the bottom in front of the doors, minor rust on sunroof, some clear coat peeling. Planning on getting new quarter panels and a paint job when I get the money.
Interior: pretty damn good for a 14 year old car. Very clean. No rips in the leather. Only things broke are one of the side window vent grills, and the cruise control stick is flopping around in the dash.
Anyone know of any good rotary mechanics in the Long Island or New York City area?
Some issues maybe you guys can help me out with:
1) The gas pedal is mad light and sloppy. Is there a way to adjust it, or tighten the cable, or something? It's really pissing me off.
2) The release latch for the gas door under the seat doesnt work. I have to pry it open with a key or something from the outside. Any ideas on how to fix this?
3) Sunroof is inoperable in either direction. Have to push and pull mad hard to move it. I'm not sure if the tracks are messed up, or if its the motor? How do I go about removing the sunroof and cleaning the tracks?
4) Dome light does not work when opening the door and when flicking the switch in any position. Map lights do work though.
Any help is appreciated.

first off, dorp the "mad" that is so 90's j/k
most of that sounds like some good ol' fashioned elbow grease. there are many parts to be found at junkyards, or the dealership. dont know about the gas pedal. you have to take the headliner off to get the sunroof off, and just take that all the way apart, clean it up till its spotless and spray it with white lithium grease.

The dome light is probably just a burned out bulb.
I have a mirror site with a complete set of manuals linked in my sig below. You can download, read & print what you need.
The interior trim plastic will be old & brittle.
The cruise control & defroster grill are you first examples.
Be as gentle as you can pulling & reinstalling trim.
There are some putty stick type plastic repair epoxys that work well on the parts that break.
Here is my repair on the cruise control switch mount:

i still say mad :P i hear alot of people say it.. so dont stop saying it as for your gas pedal.. i would check and make sure that the throttle cable is properly mounted still and not just floating around.. or laying somewhere not in its bracket. im sure there are pedal adjustments to, check the haynes or FSM.

Everyone in NYC says "mad" so its pretty much just a habbit.
Anyway, thanks for the info and pic on the cruise control.
The dome light and sunroof are no big deal right now. It is record cold out and im not staying outside to **** with that ****.
The gas pedal on the other hand is really pissing me off. Anyone have pics of how the cable should look under the hood, or know the adjustments?
