my jdm 13bt a s4 or s5? or a hybrid?
car was originally a GXL chassis, previous owner swapped in a jspec engine using NA harness. So i wouldn't know which engine it was. Previous owner didn't know anything about the swap. He just paid his friend at a shop to do it. Done ghetto-ly might i add
Now this is what's in the car that makes me all "WTF" about. These are the reasons why i thought it was a S4 in the first place
i got a N322 ECU, which is for a 87 T2.
the tmic is the non marked one, nice and fat, so i assumed it was a S4.
the OMP is mechanical.
this is what makes me wonder now
when i took the exhaust off, the turbo has the s5 turbo wastegate flapper. So i thought it was a s5 turbo upgrade?
THEN today, when i replaced my TPS, looked at the TPS bracket, it has the twin TPS bracket, which only comes on the S5. looked on fc3spro.com, and the TB looks just like the S5 one.
Oh and the engine also doesn't have a EGR, which is how jdm engines are though.
Reason i wanna find out, is because i got the microtech ordered n stuff right now, should still be in australia. I ordered a s4 turbo basemap. But if the engine is a s5, i don't want to deal with gay things before i take it down to get tuned.
does anyone else know any OTHER differences between a s4 and s5 motor?
or maybe someone actually know the differences between a JDM s4 and s5?
the only explaination i can thinnk of right now is a s4 block, with s5 turbo and TB (or maybe intake manifold to) on it
