Thumbs up My GTUs kicks *** :)

Just to warn you this is a large post…..

Yo… So I have been down on my GTUs lately because of an electrical problem. About 8 months ago my positive wire for the electric fan grounded to the chassis and took out a couple of key components. From first glance it took out my ground from the back of the motor to the firewall, the rear stainless steel brake lines were burned (electricity works in weird ways), and the ECU. Figuring if it did this much damage it probably took out the wiring harness. During that time my Girlfriend and I were looking for a new place to live. So I went out bought a new car to get to work and just put the GTUs in the garage in disgust. Towed it to the new place and there it sat for more time.

About ready to sell it my buddy Kevin (RarestRX) could not let me do that and got me a new ECU from Mazda recycling. It had a 90 day warranty on it so if the wiring was bad and it popped again I could just get a new one. I took about 2 weeks and preformed all sorts of electrical tests on the harness. Feeling that the harness was ok after all I put in a new ground I got at a junk yard, plugged in the new ECU and viola it fired right up no probs. With that done I have spent the last couple of weeks cleaning up the wiring and the car.

This past week at work was terrible (my company is going out of biz). So I came home from work (Friday) all pissed off and depressed. On the way home I remembered that there was an Auto-X in Sacramento this weekend. I worked from when I got home till midnight to finish the car. Used Sat morning to clean her up and do some final tests. I drove all the way from Fremont to Sacramento in 100 deg heat no prob the car was solid. Sun went to the Auto-X beat the **** out of it got some good runs in and some good crowd pleasing drifts (accompanied by back fires) and went home. I even got stuck in stop and go traffic for 45 min in Sacramento (hot) and the temp never moved (thank you Black Magic). And that is why my GTUs kicks ***. It ran like a champ and put me in a great mood. Thought you all would like to hear my triumph. Peace and keep it sidewayz.

Sweet!

If you need an 89-91 engine harness in a hurry, I have a spare that I'm keeping around for an eventual ECU upgrade in the future.
