my e-shaft is stuck!!

HELLO IM TRYING TO FINISH UP THe rebuild like all of you know. anyways in my thread before i talked about a bolt that had broken off while trying to install the main bearing anyways its been 2 says and i got the bolt from atkins today anyways im trying to move the e-shaft for the bearing teeth to catch up with the rotor and nothing the eshaft doesnt want to move you can hear it wanting to but nothing ive tried so hard to move it but nothing what could be wrong? i have the rotary engine adapter and the 18 tension bolts already torqued to spec. the eshaft was moving fine 2 days ago? what could of be the problem??!!. the eshaft goes up and down about a quarter of an inch but it wont rotate, i tried setting the engine horizontal instead of vertical to see if that would change anything but no it still wont rotate maybe im just to weak??

So let me get this straight, you have the shortblack assembled(including the front cover), the flywheel nut/tension bolts/front hub bolt torked and the Eshaft won't spin? So if you put some heavy gloves on and try to spin the flywheel, it won't? What did you tork the front hub bolt to?

thanx kevin, no i havent installed the flywheel yet, nor the bearings or oil pump chain, i just put the flywheel on with the nut to see if it would turn and it did so then i took the flywheel off all i need is the way the bearings and spacer goes on the eccentric shaft

Veg. I guess it's the thrust bearings you are refering to?
It is all shown on page 1-31 of the factory service manual.
The order, from FRONT to BACK as shown is:
11 Distributor Drive
12 oil pump sprocket
13 balance weight
14 Thrust washer
15 Needle bearing (AKA 'Torrigton')
16 spacer
17 plate
15 Needle bearing
16 Spacer
Thats just as listed in the FSM, so just reverse the order to install. As indicated by the numbers, 15 & 16 are identical, but you should keep them matched if you are re-using them. If you didnt, Ah well. Good luck. Dave
