my dyno results, why didnīt get more??

Hello guys

I just my TII from dyno today and Iīm a little disappointed/confused. See my mods in the sign. I have 1400miles on a rebuilt and copression was 100psi on each rotor. Is that good or bad? I think its little low.

dyno results was 300hp/540Nm on wheels with 11psi boost pressure so does it make ~360hp/648Nm on flywheel?? I DON`T UNDERSTAND? Iīve hoped to get more hp (more like 330-350rwhp) but THAT MUCH torque?? I havenīt got the chance to drive the car yet so I donīt know how it goes.

I have 2" IC piping, isit too small? Would it help if I got 2,5"?

Why so low on the boost? And what were your AFRs?

What kinda power were you expecting? 300 RWHP @ 11 psi is ****** great! BTW your compression is just fine.

540 Nm = 398 ft-lbs

Thats a ****-load of torque. I suspect you AFRs are very low..either that or you are running that T04B on a 350 Seriously though, what are your AFRs? Also, that 60-1 isnt even getting warmed up at 10psi. I dont have a compressor map handy, but Id be thinking you should be looking at ~16psi or so to really get the power out of that.

Yeah what are the AFR's like? I was thinking of getting a full T04 without going standalone yet and keeping it down to around 12psi for high boost with the RTEKV1.5.

Post that dyno sheet. 300rwhp @ 11 psi is nothing to be unhappy about.

compression is OK, just ok though. 1400 miles after the rebuild, you should have about 110psi if decent housings were used or 120psi with new housing and seals.

i dont want to hear about how 300 at 11psi is low.... What kind of numbers did you expect? 400@ 10 psi.... 550 at 11psi.... ?

take the car out and drive it with 300rwhp.... its gonna be a wild ride. hope you have some good tires on that thing.

I dunno what "Custom 3" exhaust" is, but that might be your "problem".
I'd worry about your fuel injectors maxing out, as you're practically at the limit in terms of power output.

Was that run using the Aquamist? And at what RPM do you see 11psi at?

300rwhp@11psi is ******* great... I thought I made a lot at 285rwhp@10psi But then again, I'm only running hybrid turbo.

Okay "if" I understood right I have a lot of of power on 11psi!!?

I donīt know what my afr was because I wasnīt there but Iīll find out and get back to you tomorrow when go get my car.

And like I said before I havenīt got a chance to drive the car yet so I donīt know when I see full boost but I think itīs around 5000rpm because my friend said then the turbo really kicks!(is this turbo really THAT laggy). Donīt know was the water injection on when dynoed but I donīt think it gives much more extra power.

Is it really possible to get that much torque of the engine? I donīt remember to seen that kind of figures before.

How much rwhp do you think I could get if/when I go higger boost. Donīt wanna go more than 14-15psi max to be safe.

confused BUT relieved..
Iīll get back as soon as I know more
thanks

Dude, those are some good numbers!

I have a feeling you are like this when you take a test. Someone will be like, "So, how did you do?" You are like, "Crappy". And you end up getting an A

Drive the car with 300.... its plenty! Get greedy and things happen. this is a s4 if i remember right and the s4 rear housing has a weak spot.

My buddy had 300, wanted more for the bragging rights, so he upped it. got 398 at 17psi... crack...

new motor is going in later this week.

so drive it... its gonna be plenty.

No its s5

Iīve heard that 15psi is absolute max to retain reliability, donīt know how true is it? so 14-15psi is enough for me. Tuning is the most important thing, donīt wanna go "on the edge"

well with a fcd your ecu is only seeing 8psi when you boost 15.

If you have the timing retard and fuel for it then it should be ok... but im not sure you have the fuel for it.
time to upgrade those injectors...

do you want the hp numbers for bragging rights? Or do you plan to run it on the track?
It gonna be hard to keep the wheels from smoking with more than 300rwhp on the street. Public roads are dirty, traction is limited.

Drive the car... id bet 300 is plenty to run you right into a tree..

Holy $hit...that's a lot of power period. For 11psi that's freaking great, think about it this way...the EVO VIII runs what 18psi and it only makes 270 fwhp. Now think how much quicker your car will be since you weigh in at about 250-300lbs less and have nearly 80hp more...yea you don't have AWD but screw that. This is gonna be one wild car man...

Kiyo

P.S.
I want a dyno and some video.

Holy lord...rotarygod is here too! Where have you been??? Seems like a year since I've seen you around here.

Btw...damn I knew the boost on the EVO was high but DAMN...doesn't the Impreza run really high boost too...? I know it's not quite as high but still...

I got the car but unfortunately I donīt have dyno sheets. The dyno is unfinished but my friend is working on it so maybe next time when I install extra fuel injectors and raise boost to 14psi I have dyno sheets.

Turbo is laggy as hell. I see full boost at 5000rpm and thats VERY late. I had no idea that To4B was that laggy, or is there something wrong with my car?
Its very difficult to have a good launch because you need so much rpm(+4500) or the car will choke when release the clutch. Everytime I shift it takes 1-1,5sec before the turbo is back in action, depending on how fast I shift. Okay I know Iīm not very good driver but I want to be gentle to my tranny.

And about the grip. I have 255/45/17 on rear-> can hardly spin my tires even if I try(donīt get boost).

Should my turbo be THAT laggy?

PS. I have to admit that the car is fast but not THAT fast...yet...

On a T60-1, even with a 1.15 A/R turbine, you should see full boost a lot quicker than that. Although most people running that turbo go with .96 or 1.0.

Your turbo's sweet spot is between 10-15psi.
I would say it is a tuning issue.

Are you using a boost controller, or just running off the wastegate spring?

no I donīt have boost controller..yet. Iīve thinking of buying one but donīt know whatīs good on the market. What would you suggest? What is the benefit of it?

How can I tune to see full boost earlier?

Iīm new with this stuff so enlight me the best you can.

Hum, how much water are you spraying?

How did you tune your water injection?

Maybe the lag is because you are injecting to much water.

Go to this forum for info on that.
