My car runs like poo now

Well, the other day, I went to start my car in the morning and it started fine and idled fine until it warmed up. Now it hesitates to idle or wont idle at all after being warmed up??! Any suggestions on what i should start checking? When its warm and im accelerating it has all the power, doesnt sputter or backfire even when decelerating. Im stuck, Its a 100% stock 13b. Just replaced spark plugs and wires with NGK, also air filter and replaced all the vacuum lines since the problem started. PLEASE HELP!!

OK im really stumped. So there is NOT a vacuum leak, i even confirmed the carb clean method with a vacuum tester. and it all checks out OK at a steady 22Hg. So wtf do I do now? It has all the power and runs smooth when cruising or accelerating, just wont idle when warm for ****! Any other suggestions??

Ground issue
clogged cats

Come on people. One thing I've learned on this site it that if I diagnose it wrong people will try and correct me. So come on lets fix this guys car.

You should gut the pre cats. First thing dude.
Check all your connections. Then double check them. Maybe you fucked something up. Sound kinda strange you messed with the vac tubes then had problems.

Let us know if this it true and PICS of the engine and 7 would help.
We (7 club site) will help you

So you say no mods at all that you know of?

check connections to the Sensor at the Bottom of the Rad,the Sensor behind the Waterpump, the One at the Oil filter..My Thinking,if one of those is off you are Getting a Start problem, because it is not reading anything.Ya..also I Would Go Back and Trace your Vacuum lines..you could have missed one,.Or it is Sucking air Somewhere.Making it Run like crap.

actually no he said he changed the plugz.. did one of them get dropped in the process maby it got FD up somewhere from the parts store to the motor?? there is only a few things it could be... somthing that he did i susspect because it worked fine before he did anything... and somthing like a plug being fucked would be more noticable at low RPM / idle try your old plugz see if the same **** happins. if it does then bam you know its not your new plugz givin you the prob...

UPDATE! My TPS was WAY off. also the idle cam wasn't adjusted properly. And apparently my cold start mechanism is failing so im going to delete that system (doesnt get cold enough in az to need it). Also, thanks freemanrx7, most of the grounds are pretty shitty (corroded) so im going to replace those and even add a few. And do you really think that the 2 pre-cats could cause it run shitty? should i just get one good magnaflow cat or something? And the plugs were fine, i'm pretty careful when it comes to handling my plugs and choosing where i purchase them from. It actually ran worse when i put the old plugs back it. lol

You don't need a new magnaflow cat. Just gut the first 2 precats and keep the main factory cat. These cats are probably not the problem but you should gut them anyways.

What can happen is the first cat falls apart and clogs the second. Lets just say they are 15% clogged. Hollowing them out can free up the exhaust a little. When you hollow out the precats just use a large screwdriver to punch them out then use some compressed air to make sure everything is out. The first 2 precats are there so mazda could bring the 7 to the states and pass cold startup emmissions. My 88 Rx7 passed california smog with flying colors without the 2 precats.

In your first post you said that it started fine when cold then had problems when it got hot. So If you can keep your cold start setup.

Is there anybody you know in your area that knows rx7's that can come over and look at your vehicle. Sometimes a fresh mind can find something real easy

How is the car running now that you have adjusted the TPS?
