my car runs like crap under 4ooo rpm

i need help, im not sure what to fix

my car runs terrible under 4ooo rpms, even when i have the peddle all the way to the floor. once it hits 4000 it opens up like it used too. (its def. not drivable) im not the most mechanicly inclined but i am willing to fix it myself, i just never even heard of anything like this before


please help

two things. check your TPS and the other thing check for compression on the rotors

Sounds like how my engine ran after it had a blown apex seal; I would get some compression numbers.

tps=Throttle Position Sensor, but you shoulda been able to find that in the FAQ

thats the first thing I was thinking...get the primaries cleaned...or get new ones...then try to see if thats the problem.

Do you happen to have a clip of the car running, or a way to get one?

can you recall any event that may have possibly triggered it (eg. during a hard pull there was a hesitation at high RPM, or an unusual backfire)? or did it just sort of "happen?"
