Muffler suggestions??

ok i would love to hear some suggestions on different mufflers for my setup.
my setup is RB header into a straight pipe all the way to the back, no cats or nothing, just a 2.5 pipe. its going to be a single exhaust so im looking for a good muffler to finish it off with. its going to be loud as hell already so i dont want anything that will make it unbearable. throw some suggestions at me.
its for an 86 NA.
thanks.

your engine needs backpressure to make the 5/6 ports turn on... you car will be slow unless you rig the 5/6 ports..
and an open header rotary to louder than an open header v8 if that tells you anything..

and do a SEARCH here is the link https://www.rx7club.com/search.php

do yourself a favor and put atleast a resonator in to help with the rasp.

look at racing beats design on their website and copy it.

As far as a muffler to use, take the advice of the guys at Mazdatrix. The temperature of the rotary's exhaust gas is impressive. Make sure whatever you decide to use can withstand the heat. Even with a muffler, the system you've described is going to be loud.....maybe prohibitavely so.

get a corksport cat-back with your header/strait pipe setup- if its the racing beat presilencer if seen this setup done a few times already. Yea and its gonna be loud! I have the racing beat header+ bonez hi flow cat+ corksport single cat back. Its friggin loud and i had to buy the silencer so that i dont attract too many cops.

Racing Beat is the only catback exhaust system if you don't want your car to sound and look like every other Civic you pass. Their system is all polished SS and is designed for the rotary engine and its exhaust. I had an RB Catback exhaust system put on my 89 GTU when I had the engine rebuilt and street ported. I have gotten a lot of compliments on the car's sound and the look of these true dual exhausts.

The reason people told you about catback systems is because that is what people generally get for rx-7's. Since you only want a muffler, try a magnaflow or borla xr-1. You are going to have to get someone to weld it onto your pipe, though.

I had a rb header, with presilencer to N1's, and not only was it loud as hell, it was raspy! So raspy that I removed the header untill I can afford an RB catback. So, My recomendation would be an Racing beat muffler. And you should really try to get some kind of presiencer.

Racing Beat makes universal style Power Pulse mufflers for use in custom setups.
You could get one of those and have a nice tip welded on and you'd be ready to go. Very loudly I'm sure but it would be meant for a rotary. They come with I.D.s of 2.5 and 3 inches.
