I know it has been done, but I can't seem to find any pictures or descriptions of where people have put it. I had it on top of my fan shroud before, but am switching to an e-fan and can't seem to find a good spot for it in the bay anymore.

I have heard they make some annoying noises when mounted inside, but I'm not sure how loud/annoying. I was considering mounting it in my passenger bin along with the battery, and running larger wire to offset the extra length.

I put it in between the rad support and the front Bumper.I then ran the wires to the leading coil,and the battery,..Done!
It is pretty well a short run and the air from the outsidd keeps it cool.You need that,as they get a little warm.

i run an 6AL inside my passenger footwell on another car,i think the best environment would be inside the car away from all the engine heat and vibrations also,thats what i would recommend,look at some of the builds and you should have writeups on how it was done

My old setup, not mine, had all my 3 MSD 6A's in the passenger storage bin!

Again, It wasn't my setup and I knew nothing about my car because I was young and dumb when I bought it. It did work though...

I thought about mounting it in between the rad and bumper as well. Like you said it is a pretty ideal spot. I saw that is how Aaron Cake mounted his as well. The problem I have is that I have my FMIC mounted between the crash bar and radiator, with the coolant overflow bottle and relays just above the intercooler, so I have no room there.

I personally wouldn't put them inside on a street car because I can hear them operating. It would drive me crazy.

A good spot, depending on where your intercooler piping is run, is just behind the headlights on the rad support area. Make some L shaped brackets.

If there is room, how about the underside of your panel between the bumper and rad support?

I have mine above the brake booster, in the corner. But I need to change that once I get ls2 coils.

Unfortunately due to the layout of my setup I don't think I can fit it in front of the radiator or behind the headlight.

Here is how my intercooler is mounted, it takes up the majority of the room under the cooling panel. Above it and taking the rest of the room is my coolant bottle and relay panel.



Maybe I could make a bracket to hold it on its side parallel to the relays?



I could have fit it behind my driver's side headlight but I needed to relocate my leading coil so the IC piping would fit and that is where I have the coil mounted. If I could find another place for the coil (I am keeping my air conditioning) I could then install the MSD where the coil currently is.

Mount it to the underside of the cooling panel on the right. Just drill some small holes in it and run a thin screw/bolt.

my intercooler is mounted a little different but you should still have plenty of room to mount your box like my setup. Mine is the hyfire 6a same size as the msd and the cooling panel should still fit right over. you can bend down the relays just a little bit to help it clear.
